A general view of the tin smelting works, with St George's Road in front, from what was later to become Victoria Gardens. Brunel's viaduct is to the right of the works with Carvedras House in front. Note the single stack to the works. Truro railway station can be seen on the skyline. The parish church of St George the Martyr, with the vicarage to the right, was built in 1855.
