Fine Art Prints From Royal Cornwall Museum

Royal Visit, High Cross, Truro, Cornwall. 15th July 1903

Crowds of people line the street as the Infantry leave High Cross for King Street on the occasion of the Prince and Princess of Wales, later King George V and Queen Mary, visiting the cathedral for the Benediction of the cathedral nave on 15th July 1903. The Royal train arrived at the station at Grampound Road and the Royal couple then travelled to Truro in an open carriage. They stayed at Tregothnan, St Michael Penkivel, during their visit. The parade passes by G.H. Philps at 2 King Street and Harry, City Shoe Manufacturer at 3 King Street. Photographer: Unknown
