Horse drawn ambulance, Truro, Cornwall. 1918
Wounded soldiers in a horse drawn ambulance probably in the grounds of the Auxiliary Naval Hospital or possibly the end of First World War celebrations at Ladock. The Police man with collar number 108 is thought to be PC Erwin French who joined the Cornwall Constabulary 11.11.1895 after service in the Duke of Cornwalls Light Infantry and retired from the police force on the 30.06.1923. He was based at Truro from 20.5.1914. Photographer: Arthur William Jordan
