A group of six members of the Womens Land Army and various farm hands pictured in a field, at croust-time (lunch time). The names of the women are thought to be as follows: left to right, Ms. Dorothy Phyllis Martin (partly obscured by mans cap), Ms. Brown (to the rear of the group), Ms. Northey, Ms. Crowther, Ms. Nora Lock, Ms. Vera Dunfrane. Alfred Martin, owner of Tregavethan Farm, a Womens Land Army training centre, sits to the left of the picture with a bowl partially hiding his face, and his wife sits with her back to the hay rick on the extreme right of the picture. The womens uniform consists of boots, gaiters, felt hats and pale fabric overalls. Photographer: Arthur William Jordan
