The Prince and Princess of Wales, later to become King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, were in the first skip to descend the inclined Boscawen Shaft. Pictured here are the Duke of St Albans, the Earl of Mount Edgecumbe, Captain de Grey and Edward St Aubyn. In this photograph, the despatching party, seen in TRURI : 2011.11.7, have stepped back into the housing. The brakesman, Captain John Rowe has taken his position in the rear of the skip. 20x16 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
