The photograph shows somewhere in the region of a hundred men and boys either viewing, or on the deck, of the wreck, even although it is high and dry on the sands. There is still a hard gale blowing as can be perceived by the full sails and the fact that the crowd on the beach are sheltered from the wind by the hull of the vessel. She was wrecked on Lelant Sands, St Ives on 16th Oct 1886. At 204 tons, the Albert Wilhelm was built by Drossel of Zingst in 1856 and registered in Barth, Germany. The crew were rescued by the Hayle lifeboat Isis and rocket apparatus. Photographer: Edward Ashton

10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
