The Royal Cornwall Gazette reported on the excursion on 20th August 1868 a photograph was taken of the Cheesewring and its surrounding swarm of human beings .... the president [J. Jope Rogers] and officers, with others, were grouped about it's base with good effect'. People are also on top of the Cheesewring, a weathered granite tor. Photographer: Richard P. Yeo
