Collecting, probably for the Red Cross, during the First World War. The collecting box has "Hospital Day Collection" printed on it. The signs in the shop window, would suggest the shop is possibly a chemist (Wincarnis was a tonic wine and Allenburys Foods produced milk based products for children).
