Back Quay and Lemon Quay, Truro, Cornwall. Probably early 1920s

A view from Lemon Bridge with the River Kenwyn at high tide. Truro school stands on the hill in the background. Sailing barges, one with wooden square engine housing towards the stern, are alongside both quays while another is moored mid stream. The boys in the foreground, on the steps, and the one walking along Back Quay on the left are wearing shorts. Signage for the premises of N. Gill & Son and John Julian can be seen. To the right, on the corner of Tabernacle Street, the sun is shining on a Pratt's motor spirit advertisement. Photographer: Arthur William Jordan

Perranporth Railway Station, Cornwall. Around 1916

A group of women on Perranporth station platform with their luggage standing next to the train. They all appear to be wearing an On War Service badge. This triangular shaped badge was issued after conscription in 1916 by the Ministry of Munitions. It was intended solely for women engaged in urgent war work. Photographer: Arthur William Jordan

Lemon Quay, Truro, Cornwall. 1901

The County Coach Factory Company established 1835. Formerly Beale's. The buildings stand facing Lemon Quay with the entrance to Tabernacle Street just visible on the right of picture. The buildings are decorated for Edward VII coronation in 1901. Two well dressed men stand outside the house and a well dressed Asian man with the bowler type hat seems to be smoking a cigar, while they pose for the photographer. A stiff breeze has moved and blurred the flags displayed on the house
