The Harbour, Cadgwith, Cornwall. 1908

A man and woman admire the visiting French ketch 'Nouvelle Marie', moored at Cadgwith. The ship was lost with all hands in 1909 off the coast of Glamorgan. The large thatched house at the top left of the photograph is 'Bodrigy', built by the Johnson family, of Trewithen in about 1905. The house burnt down in the early 1960s, leaving only the ground floor. The remains of the house were remodelled into a bungalow after the fire. Photographer: Herbert Hughes.
