Pentillie Castle, Pillaton, Cornwall. 1975
Built by Sir James Tillie in 1698, the castle became the seat of the Coryton family in the 18th century. In 1810 it was redesigned by Humphrey Repton in Gothic revival style. It was Grade II listed in 1968 but fell into disrepair and was the subject of a Country House Rescue programme on Channel 4 in 2009 and 2011. In 2018, the estate was still managed by the Coryton family. Photographer: Charles Woolf

A view of Cape Cornwall and The Brisons from the east side above Priest's Cove with an excursion party and horse and cart on the approach road. The chimney stack of Cape Cornwall Mine can be seen on the headland. Cape Cornwall marks the point where the Atlantic currents divide. Some of the water flows north into the Bristol Channel and the Irish Sea with the rest becoming the English Channel. Part of the A.K. Hamilton Jenkin collection. Photographer: Unknown
