The forecourt, Lanhydrock, Cornwall. May 1930

The forecourt and house, Lanhydrock, with the church behind. Built in the 17th century for the Robartes family, the house was largely destroyed by fire in 1881 leaving only the north wing, the entrance porch and gatehouse. The house was rebuilt following the fire and was given to the National Trust in 1953. Photographer: Herbert Hughes
