Replica Bust of Nefertiti, Germany
Full size plaster replica of a limestone bust of Nefertiti. The original bust of Nefertiti (meaning the beautiful one has come forth') was discovered in 1912. Since then, Nefertiti has become one of the most famous women of the ancient world and an icon of feminine beauty. She was the 14th century BC Great Royal Wife (chief consort) of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt. The original bust, now in the Neues Museum, Berlin, is believed to have been crafted in 1345 B.C. by the sculptor Thutmose, because it was found in his workshop in Amarna, Egypt. This bust is an official copy from the early 1900s and bears the stamp of the Berlin Museum and cast number 539 on its base. TRURI : 1946.118
