This specimen was drawn for Specimens of British Minerals, Selected from the Cabinet of Philip Rashleigh (1797, Volume 1, Plate 7, Figure 5) which states Represents large plated six-sided crystals of grey copper ore, one over the other, with small prisms of grey copper ore, having six sides, and truncated ends upon some of the plated crystals; upon a stone of loose quartz. From Cooks Kitchen. Chalcocite is a secondary mineral occurring in or near the oxidised zone of copper sulfide deposits. Rashleigh Collection
