A crowd of excited onlookers surge over the tracks and onto the platform to witness the arrival of the first train, smoke billowing, on 27th March 1899, the grand opening day. The station was the western terminus of the North Cornwall Railway and was operated by the London and South Western Railway. The locomotive is an Adams 4-4-0. Photographer: Unknown
