Boats on the beach at Cadgwith, Cornwall. Late 1800s
Seven boats on the beach at Cadgwith. The larger boat has a steam engine. The boiler and chimney and what looks like a steam driven winch at the stern can clearly be seen. The signal station with its mast and a group of people standing nearby are in the background. This slide is undated, but the steam engine in the boat and the crinoline type dress worn by one of the figures by the signal station might point to the photograph being of an earlier date than it first seems.
