Canvas Prints from Royal Cornwall Museum

Artist Don Breckon, Lostwithiel, Cornwall. July 1991

Renowned railway artist Don Breckon at work in his studio in Lostwithiel. Dedicated to getting the detail precise, every painting is a complete story and social history. His favourite era was the 1950s and 1960s, the time when he was embarking on a life as an artist. His work appears in many books and, at the time of the photograph, Country Connections, a book in which 40 of his paintings are reproduced, had just been published. The Royal Cornwall Museum holds one of his pictures, depicting the City of Truro locomotive passing a tin mine. Photographer: Jonathan Barker
