Bridge Strengthening, Lostwithiel, Cornwall. January 1993

Bridge strengthening work is undertaken on the bridge carrying the A390 road over the River Fowey at Lostwithiel. The work, costing £ 109, 000, is to bring it up to European standard capable of taking 40 tonne vehicles. The bridge was built in 1939 as part of the Lostwithiel by-pass scheme.
