St Bartholomews Church, Lostwithiel, Cornwall. March 1983
St Bartholomews Church, Lostwithiel, with newly pollarded trees in the churchyard. The practice takes place every 20 years or so to stop the trees getting too large. The church is 12th century and was probably built by Robert of Cardinam, who was Lord of the town and owner of much property in the area, on foundations of an earlier chapel which may have dated from King Arthurs time.
