South African war memorial, 1899-1902, with a sculpture of a soldier with head bowed and holding a rifle. Inscription reads: This memorial was erected by the inhabitants of Penzance to the memory of the Penzance men who lost their lives during the South African War 1899-1902. Scottish Light Horse, Lieut.
