Fish cellars, Port Quin, St Endellion, Cornwall. 1969
View of the remains of the pilchard cellars looking towards the south side of Port Quin. The line of brick niches were used for pressing poles. Houses are visible on the hillside behind. Port Quin was once a busy fishing port and is said to have been mostly abandoned after all of the fishermen from the village were lost during a storm in the 19th century. Photographer: Charles Woolf
