Charles Mannell and George Penrose admiring the view at Chapel Rock, Trenowth (near Grampound Road) in the parish of Probus, Cornwall. 17th June 1904
This image is mentioned in the Royal Institution of Cornwalls (RIC) Newsletter dated 20th October 1996 " Additions to the photographic collection - one of interest to the RIC taken at Chapel Rock, Trenowth on 17 June 1904. Standing is a Mr Charles Mannell, but seated is George Penrose, then in his fourth year as Curator at our museum. The RICs excursion on 18 August 1903 had been to the area where Sir Robert Harvey, President 1901-03, had recently built a bungalow. It is likely that Penrose returned to examine the Iron Age camps and three chapels or oratories in the vicinity, one of them having stood at Chapel Rock". Photographer: Unknown
