White Gold Week, St Austell, Cornwall. July 1991

Sylvester the Jester struts his stuff in Fore Street, St Austell, at the start of White Gold Week celebrating the towns association with china clay. The 7 days of events, parades and competitions was an initiative by shop-owners to raise the profile of the town. The jester was preparing for the Busking Festival at the Cornwall Coliseum during the week. Photographer: Jonathan Barker
