Gasworks being built, Lemon Quay, Truro, Cornwall. Before 1902
Truro Gas Companys gasworks were located at the Newham end of Lemon Quay and burnt coal transported in by river. New gas offices were opened in Boscawen Street in 1936 (Royal Cornwall Gazette 1.4.1936). The gas industry was nationalised in 1948 and a larger gasworks was built at Newham. Photographer: Unknown
