Poster Print of Back Quay and The Green, Truro, Cornwall. 1910-1920

Back Quay and The Green, Truro, Cornwall. 1910-1920
Back Quay and The Green, Truro, Cornwall. 1910-1920
A view from just down river from Lemon Quay, looking up river towards Lemon Bridge (just out of view) and Back Quay. The trees on the right hand side mark The Green. At high tide a sailing barge discharges some type of bulk cargo by wheelbarrow across a precariously rigged gang plank. The sailing barge is probably anchored in the centre of the River Kenwyn to give more time on a falling tide to discharge the cargo.

Poster Print of Back Quay and The Green, Truro, Cornwall.

A ketch type vessel is tied alongside on the right with what looks like a washing line rigged on deck to dry clothing. The completed cathedral stands in the distance. Photographer: Unknown
