A view of St Austell Street at the bottom of Mitchell Hill, Truro. Two Inns can be seen, The Hope Inn, which was demolished in 1963, has a sign reading Hope Inn by W. J. Passmore and the George and Dragon Inn, demolished in 1931, is licensed to Betty Wills. A notice advertising a swimming gala on Friday 12 August 1927 is displayed in the window of the George and Dragon Inn and a sign advertising Lyons Tea is on a building opposite.
