View of St George's Road from opposite the corner of John Street, looking towards Carvedras Viaduct. Snow is on the ground and a young man with a shovel and broom is by the gas lamp post. The spires of the Parish Church of St George the Martyr can be seen on the skyline. The photograph is dated after 1902 as the stone structure that replaced Brunel's earlier original timber fanned viaduct can be seen. This new viaduct opened on 17th August 1902.
