The photograph is taken from outside 42 Lemon Street. The Kings Head public house at 61 Lemon Street, on the corner with Charles Street, can be seen on the left hand side of the photograph. The landlord at the time was F. Clyma. A number of people and several horse drawn carts can be seen in the street. The clock tower of City Hall is visible in the distance.
