View of Truro, Cornwall, from Polisco over the city. Between 1905-1910
This is a good view of the city and the cathedral without the west towers which were completed in 1910. In the back ground are the two railway viaducts. Daubuz viaduct on the right is nearing completion of its rebuild. Replacing Brunels original timber viaduct with the stone and brick built structure that can be seen behind the original. Two cranes are being used to dismantle the timbers of the old viaduct. Lemon quay and Kenwyn river is in the centre left, with Lemon Street bridge visible at the far end. Boscawen Bridge can just be seen centre right. At the bottom of the steep field in the foreground is Malpas Road. Photographer: Arthur Philp
