View of Polridmouth Bay and Gribbin Head. The view shows the Gribbin Tower, a square beacon erected by Trinity House in 1832. It was never lighted but is painted in red and white bands as a daymark to make navigation into Fowey and the harbours of St Austell bay safer. It became a Grade II listed building in 1974 and is now managed by the National Trust. Alongside is a distant view of the coastguard lookout. Photographer: Herbert Hughes.
