Peaceful demonstration by Miners, Redruth, Cornwall. 25th April 1889

600 miners, men, women and children are pictured during a demonstration against the stopping of Wheal Agar engine which would flood East Pool Mine. As a result of the demonstration, Thomas Bedford Bolitho, MP for the constituency of St Ives, had a conference with representatives of the men and directed that the engine be started at once.
