Royal Barge, Golant (St Sampson), Cornwall. December 1992
A barge that was once used to transport Queen Victoria to St Michaels Mount is being restored by Golant boatbuilder, John Fuge. Built around 1740, it is believed to be the oldest rowing boat in the country and is owned by Lord St Levan, with the restoration programme being overseen by the National Trust. The plan is to restore the boat to a seaworthy condition. Photographer: Jonathan Barker
