A general view of Ropehaven House. The house is built on the site of a former fish cellars and small fishing harbour. A small fishing hamlet existed above the site, but has long since disappeared. The land and harbour were owned by the Hext family for 351 years before being sold in 1989. Photographer: Charles Woolf
