Canon H. Miles Brown, the Rector of St Winnow Parish and local author, at the time of his retirement. When he left the parish he joined Truro Cathedral as a lay canon and continued his writing producing A Century for Cornwall: The Diocese of Truro, 1877-1977, and The Story of Truro Cathedral.
