Framed Photos From Royal Cornwall Museum

Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall. Around 1890s

A view up Lemon Street from Lemon Bridge (which can just be seen on the left hand side) with horse-drawn cabs and carts on the road and lots of people posing for the photographer. The bell tower for St Johns Church and Lander Monument can just be seen at the top of the hill. The building which housed John Julian and Company, auctioneers, house agents and valuers, can also be seen on the left hand side of the photo. These premises were destroyed by a fire in 1893. To the left, just out of the photograph, is Lemon Quay. Photographer: Arthur William Jordan
